Same premise, different ending

I'm sure you can all recall that epic view of the blue Thunderbird flying off of the cliff at the end of the movie; however, this Thelma and Louise will be a bit tamer. No murder. No police chases. No cliff flying. No sexy cowboys (wait, definitely no promises on that note).

For maybe the two of you reading that might not know us, here are introductions.

Enter Louise. Strong-willed. High-strung. Independant. Laughs at her own jokes more than others (good thing Thelma's there). Loves to be dramatic. Willing to try anything, except bananas. A bit of a gypsy at heart...and has a liver of champions.

Enter Thelma. Free spirit. Embraces spontaneity but resists change. Laughs out loud (even at Louise's jokes). Rocks the cowgirl boots. Crys at commercials. Can (and does) talk to everyone. Loves all things healthy (even bananas). Dances to her own beat with the help of large doses of caffeiene.

Every great road trip has a beginning. Ours began back in March. We sat at Three Monkeys Bar in Richmond, Va on a Monday evening, discussing issues far deeper than our Miller Lights could handle. So complex, a young lad sauntered over to our cozy nook and asked us, with slurred speech, "are you lesbians? you're too hot to be lesbians!" We laughed. And then laughed some more. The words "you're too close to my girlfriend" were spoken in jest and the man, wait...boy left more confused about women than he initially thought. So, of course, this catapulted us into a conversation about getting away. Traveling somewhere...something we have discussed for about seven years, but just never got around to doing because, well let's face it...life. Then the term "carpe diem" (yes, we know this is corny. embrace it.) flew through our minds and the question, "if not now, when?" became our touchdown cheer for the next few months. (can you tell one of us was a cheerleader?)

So, there you have it. The little seed of our beginning. Off we go. Our journey begins in Pawley's Island, SC (after being a part of a gorgeous, picturesque wedding!) and where it takes us, you will soon find out.

We make no promises for spectacular reflections or charming wit, but we do promise updates and pictures for those that stick with us.

Vroom Vroom goes the Thunderbird (or...Nissan).
