Rules of the Road

With two young ladies heading out onto the open road (again with the corniness. get used to it...), one can imagine that there are rules involved. (One of us is a teacher and prefers guidelines and boundaries).

Rules for our trip:

1. No one gets left behind. We sleep together. We eat together. We pee together. Everything...

2. Safety first! Here's one for all of our girlscout friends out there. We have our trusty mace thanks to Dr. John. oh wait, where is it? (says Thelma...one of of two isn't too bad, right?)

3. The Samantha Rule. Take this as you will.

4. No Make-up. Well, the majority of the time (unless a Brad Pitt circa Legonds of the Fall appears)

And, that's it. Our rules. It is an adventure, bare with us.

We do have traveling companions to help guide our way. Thanks to Johnny and Rachel, we have...drumroll please....DENVER, a precious turtle, that is not alive, wait...not dead either...he is stuffed. And Pete...stuffed also. (thanks to Megan!) Then there is our cute little representation of Kasey, who is here with us in spirit and will be with us in person in Denver. (the city, not the turtle).

Some might be wondering how road life is treating us. Although we have only spent 15 hours of time on the road at this point, our car feels like home. We have as much fun in the car as we do out, thanks to the many interactive mixed cds thanks to a generous benefactor, books on tape that we have yet to open, and a movie trizia game (who knew that in The Godfather, the word mafia is never mentioned!? we do!) And even after being roommates and friends for over a decade, hours together leads to new discoveries. Louise was shocked to discover Thelmas new choice of panty and Thelma found Louise's downward dog yoga pose quite entertaining, especially in the tight corner of a hotel room (and the fact that she lifted way more cupcakes than weights in college).
